ADDRESSING BACKLOGS | DFA opens 100,000 passport appointment slots today

TAGUIG, Philippines (June 14, 2018) – The Department of Foreign Affairs announced Thursday that it opened 100,000 passport appointment slots to address the backlog in the application and renewal of Philippine passports.

According to the Department’s Facebook post, half of the slots were opened this afternoon at 12:12 PM. The other half will be available at 9:00 PM.

Applicants were advised to visit and refresh the passport application website at to see the available slots.

In a separate press release, the DFA said that henceforth, it will open 10,000 slots from Mondays to Saturdays except holidays and in batches of 5,000 at 12:00 NN and 9:00 PM.

The Department also increased its processing capacity to 19,000 daily done through its online appointment system, licensed recruitment agencies for first time overseas Filipino workers, and the DFA’s Passport on Wheels program.
