MANILA, Philippines – Famous Philippine destinations grab the top three spots as the best islands in Asia according to the international travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler.

Dubbed as the “Surfing Mecca of the Philippines,” Siargao leads the roster.

“We like to say that surfers are the vanguard of travelers, scoping out some of the more remote parts of the world for surf breaks before the rest of us get there. Take Siargao: the teardrop-shaped Philippine island home to more than 15 separate surf breaks, including the legendary Cloud 9,” Conde Nast Traveler said.

The gentle coastlines and made-for-Instagram sunsets of Boracay made it secure the second spot.

While Palawan follows at third for its “otherwordly” underground river and blue lagoon.

Also included in the top five list for Asia are Langkawi in Malaysia and Bali in Indonesia. The list was based on the votes by readers of the magazine.
