MARCH 22, 2019 — Former Vice President Jejomar Binay on Friday offered a P1-million reward to anyone who could give information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects behind the attack of his son’s executive assistant.
Mayoral bet Junjun Binay’s executive assistant, Monaliza “Monette” Bernardo, was shot by unidentified assailants aboard a motorcycle in Barangay Olympia, Makati City last Thursday night.
Bernardo was shot in her right hand, with the bullet eventually hitting her abdomen. She was rushed to the Makati Medical Center and is still in critical condition.
The former vice president said he was deeply saddened by the attack as Bernardo is very close to the family.
Mayor Abby Binay, meanwhile, has also ordered the police to investigate the ambush attempt.
“Tahimik at payapa kami dito sa Makati. Hindi ako papayag na sirain ito ng mga gustong manggulo sa aming lungsod,” she said in a statement.
