THE REAL PIECES OF THE PUZZLE | The ensemble cast that made “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” a certified hit

Since the afternoon drama series “Pira-Pirasong Piraso” (PPP) aired last July 25, 2023, the show has proven itself a hit among viewers and netizens until its dramatic conclusion last January 27, 2024. With its story centered on the reunion quest of the three Paraiso sisters led by actresses Loisa Andalio, Charlie Dizon, and Alexa Ilacad, the Philippine romantic drama series by TV5 in co-production with ABS-CBN, certainly gained a following and grew a fandom for its young lead stars, while reintroducing some of our veteran artists to the current generation.

Here are some memorable moments of our main characters, portrayed beautifully by some of the most talented actors and rising stars of our time.

Una na rito sina Sunshine Dizon at Epy Quizon bilang sina Osang at Badong. Sa kanila nagsimula ang kwento dahil sila ang naging dahilan kung bakit nalayo si Amy sa kanyang tunay na pamilya na mga Paraiso nang kidnapin siya ni Osang sa ospital. Pinalaki nila si Amy bilang bahagi ng sindikato na sangkot sa mga krimen. Kalaunan, nalaman ng lahat na isa sa mga naging biktima nina Badong at Osang sa kidnapping si Amy, matapos aminin ni Osang ang buong katotohanan kay Jonaf.

Sumunod naman ang characters nina Gardo Versoza at Rosanna Roces bilang sina Daniel at Criselda. Nagsimula ang kwento nina Criselda at Daniel nang napilitan si Daniel na talikuran ang kanyang sariling pamilya kapalit ng pagtulong ni Criselda sa kanya. Nagkaanak sila ni Criselda pero maaga rin namatay ang anak nila matapos ang isang aksidente dala ng kagustuhan ni Daniel na balikan ang una niyang pamilya. Matapos ang mahabang panahon, muling nagbalik si Criselda upang ipaghiganti ang pagkamatay ng kanilang anak na si Mira. Kaya naman ikinulong at itinago niya si Daniel mula sa Paraiso sisters para maghiganti. Ngunit, sa likod ng kanyang galit, ay ang puso ng isang ina na gustong lang magmahal at mabuong muli ang kanyang pamilya.

Syempre hindi rin magpapahuli ang character ni Elisse Joson bilang si Hilary na nagpanggap noong una bilang si Amy Paraiso. Nalantda ang tunay niyang pagkatao na biktima rin siya ng kidnapping operation nina Osang at Badong, hanggang sa naging miyembro na rin siya ng sindikato nila.

Minsan na rin pinangarap ni Hilary na maging isang Paraiso nang maranasan niya kung paano siyang mahalin ng Paraiso sisters bilang isang kapatid. Hanggang sa mabunyag ang pagpapanggap niya, at nagsimula ang paghihiganti niya sa totoong Amy dahil sa inggit at galit.

Naantig naman ang lahat sa mga eksenang kasama ang tatlong lalaki na nagpatibok sa puso ng Paraiso sisters na sina Elon, Jonaf, at Vlad.

The pairing of our lead stars – Loisa Andalio with Ronnie Alonte, Charlie Dizon with Joseph Marco, and Alexa Ilacad with KD Estrada, also provided the Paraiso sisters much-needed emotional support and respite from their toils and challenges.

Si Elon (KD Estrada) at Vlad (Joseph Marco) ay mga anak nina Jacinda (Snooky Serna) at Julius (Art Acuña). Dahil hiwalay na sa asawa, nagkaroon ng pangalawang kabiyak si Julius sa katauhan nin Diana. Dito unang nakilala ni Vlad si Diana bilang kanyang stepmom. Pero sa pagkamatay ng kanyang ama, naging malapit sila ni Diana, hanggang sa tuluyan na niya itong mahalin. Sa kritikal na sandali, isinakripisyo ni Vlad ang sariling buhay niya upang mailigtas si Diana mula kay Criselda. Sa kabilang banda, nakilala naman ni Elon si Beth dahil siya ay kapatid ni Diana. Katulad ni Vlad, hindi rin naging hadlang kay Elon ang pagtutol ng ina nila sa kanyang pagmamahal para kay Beth.

Si Jonaf (Ronnie Alonte) naman ang naging kakampi ni Amy sa lahat ng hinarap niya sa buhay laban kay Badong, lalong-lalo na nang planuhin ni Amy ang pagbawi sa kanyang nanay-nanayan na si Osang. Si Jonaf din at ang buong kapulisan ang tumulong sa mga Paraiso upang mahuli ang grupo ng sindikato nina Criselda. Kaya naman sa dami ng kanilang pinagdaanan na magkasama, na-develop na rin ang kanilang pagmamahalan sa isa’t isa.

The show will not be complete of course without the stellar performances of our young leads. All out ang acting nina Loisa Andalio, Charlie Dizon, at Alexa Ilacad bilang sina Baby/Amy, Diana, at Beth – ang Paraiso sisters na talaga namang isinugal ang mga sariling buhay para sa isa’t-isa.

Nagsimula ang kalbaryo ng mga Paraiso nang mawalay kina Beth (Alexa Ilacad) at Diana (Charlie Dizon) ang kanilang kapatid na si Amy (Loisa Andalio). Hindi naging madali para sa dalawa na mahanap ang kanilang tunay na kapatid. Kaya naman nang bumalik sa kanilang buhay si Amy, ang sunod na naging plano ng magkakapatid ay mahanap naman ang kanilang tunay na ama na si Daniel (Gardo Verzosa). Matindi at mabigat ang mga pagsubok na kanilang pinagdaanan dahil umabot sa punto na kailangan nilang isakripisyo ang buhay nila upang mailigtas ang isa’t-isa. Pero sa huli, hindi ito naging hadlang sa kanila para muling makumpleto ang kanilang pamliya.
