(SEPTEMBER 11, 2019) — If Senator Bong Go can have his way, he would rather have a “killer” as the next Bureau of Corrections chief.
Go on Wednesday said President Rodrigo Duterte is “exasperated” over the GCTA law implementation fiasco and has been looking for a replacement for the axed Nicanor Faeldon as head of BuCor.
“Basta ako, ang nire-recommend ko kay Pangulo, ang mamuno, killer,” the neophyte senator told reporters in an interview.
According to the senator, the President is looking at former military or police officers as the new BuCor chief.
While he did not elaborate on his “killer” recommendation, Go said he already has a person in mind.
“Basta qualified po siyang i-appoint. Basta killer,” Go repeatedly replied to queries.
Faeldon, a former Marine officer, was sacked over alleged anomalies surrounding the granting of good conduct time allowance to inmates in the New Bilibid Prison. (Randell Ritumalta/JMF)
