How to Fight Your Enemies, Main Character Style | A step-by-step guide inspired by “Nag-aapoy na Damdamin” and “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso”

“Nag-aapoy na Damdamin” (NND) and “Pira-pirasong Paraiso” (PPP) offered unique storylines that hooked viewers to their screens every afternoon. The two series have much in common: from action-packed fight scenes to heart-wrenching moments. But perhaps what truly resonated to fans of the series, is how our main characters overcame every trial they faced, with grace and wit. Perhaps it’s our innate tendency to root for the good guys, that makes their triumph over evil, our win as well. So we revisited the series and collected some “tips” on how we can fight our villains in real life, minus the goons and guns!

1. Know your enemy

In the series, the Paraiso sisters came up with a plan para alamin ang tunay na pagkatao ni Criselda. Kaya naman, Elon and Beth teamed up at binisita nila si Criselda sa kanyang sariling kompanya upang kilalanin pa siya. Ngunit hindi alam ng dalawa na may pinaplano na pala si Criselda laban sa kanilang lahat upang maipaghiganti si Mira, ang kanyang anak. Nevertheless, dahil sa kwento ni Criselda sa pagkikita nilang ito, napagtagni-tagni nila sa huli ang tunay na kaugnayan ng anak ni Criselda sa nakaraan ng pamilya nila.

2. Never go solo

Philip got on the wrong foot with Elias after he saw Olivia with the latter at the Buencamino Memorial Hospital Welcome Party. Ngunit matapos niyang pa-imbestigahan si Elias, at aksidenteng makita ang last will and testament kasama ang sulat ni Javier Buencamino para sa ina niya, his good judgment led him to eventually call a truce by handing over the documents he discovered. Kaya sa huli, join forces na siya kina Elias at Olivia.

3. It’s okay not to be okay

Lubos na pinagsisihan ni Osang ang lahat ng kanilang ginawa ni Badong nang mawala sa buhay niya si Kano na anak-anakan niya. Ngunit binigay ni Osang ng kasiguraduhan si Amy na kahit anong mangyari, kahit hindi sila ang tunay niyang mga magulang ay mahal na mahal pa rin niya si Amy bilang sarili niyang anak. At sa moment na ito, naging emosyonal ang bida natin at binuhos niya ang kanyang nararamdaman.

4. Have a PLAN!

Elias and Olivia’s relationship started after he accidentally found her when she was about to get killed by her kidnappers. They didn’t trust each other at first, ngunit matapos malaman ni Elias na nakilala ni Olivia ang kaniyang ina, doon nagsimula ang kanilang matibay na samahan.

At dahil hindi madaling kalaban ang mga Buencamino, Elias convinced Olivia that they should carefully devise a plan for their revenge, which the latter took to heart during critical times.

5. Remember who you are.

Joaquin Serrano is a doctor and a good friend of Severino Salazar, a doctor and owner of the Salazar Medical Center who was murdered by Victoria Buencamino. Ito ang dahilan kung paano siya naging “ninong” sa anak at tagapagmana nito, si Philip.

Philip had a tight bond with Joaquin after Severino died. Kaya naman labis ang lungkot at galit na naramdaman niya nang malaman niyang sangkot ito sa pagkamatay ng kanyang ama. Nonetheless, his partner, Olivia, convinced him that forgiveness would bring him peace, which he eventually embraced.

6. Believe that good always wins

After everything that had happened, finally nalagpasan na ng mga Paraiso ang kanilang darkest and rock bottom days, kaya naman makikita na unti-unting nakabangon ang bawat isa mula sa trahedyang kanilang dinanas mula sa malulupit na kamay ni Criselda at ng grupo nito.
