(May 26, 2025) — A man was stabbed in the forehead in Malabon after he was attacked by another man reportedly consumed by jealousy in Barangay Tugatog, Malabon, May 22. The suspect allegedly lost control after catching his wife with the victim.
CCTV footage from the Malabon City Police Station shows several men gathered in an alley when a man in a yellow shirt suddenly charged at them. Armed with a screwdriver, he kicked the victim—who was seated on a motorcycle—and began stabbing him.
The victim managed to stand up and used a wooden chair to defend himself before fleeing. Despite stab wounds to his forehead and back, the victim miraculously survived and is now recovering.
Police quickly arrested the suspect, who was positively identified by the victim. The screwdriver used in the attack was also recovered.
According to PCpt. Joseph Almayda, commander of the Tugatog Substation, the motive behind the attack was jealousy.
In an interview with News5, the suspect admitted that he had been suspicious for nearly a year that his wife had been cheating. He claimed that just hours before the incident, he saw his wife and the victim together.
Overwhelmed with emotion upon seeing the two again, the suspect said he could no longer control himself, which led to the stabbing.
The suspect is now detained at the Malabon City Police Station and faces charges of frustrated homicide and illegal possession of a bladed weapon.
Meanwhile, the victim continues to recover from his injuries.
