ON 2019 POLLS | Police confiscate P12M in vote buying incidents

MAY 16, 2019 – The Philippine National Police confiscated more than P12 million in reported vote buying cases nationwide.

Based on the data as of May 14, the authorities seized a total of P12,208,958 from 225 incidents during the May midterm elections.

Most of the amount were confiscated from Caraga region with P7,976,100 and Northern Mindanao with P1,125,718.

Nine incidents of vote-buying were reported in Metro Manila. A total of 136 individuals were arrested while P541,100 was recovered.
