JUNE 12, 2019 — Members of Kapa Ministry International gathered at the Quezon City Memorial Circle to stage a prayer rally amid allegations the group is facing from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
It was a sea of white as members of Kapa’s Luzon chapter wore white t-shirts for the occasion.
The religious group currently faces allegations from the SEC over fraudulent activities concerning their donations.
According to Ahon sa Kahirapan convenor Danilo Mangahas, the donations are meant to aid underprivileged members of Kapa.
Mangahas says the group’s founding members hope to alleviate five million of its members from poverty. He said they are not ruling out the possibility that someone may be behind the recent attacks.
Mangahas urges its members to file a formal complaint against the group if they feel they have been aggrieved.
The prayer rally hopes to bring peace and understanding amid the allegations.
