JULY 21, 2019 — Vehicles that usually plow through the entire stretch of Commonwealth Avenue are directed to take an alternate route when President Rodrigo Duterte delivers his fourth State of the Nation Address.
The Quezon City Department of Public Affairs announced that by 12:01 a.m. of July 22, both the northbound and southbound lanes of Commonwealth Avenue from Quezon Memorial Circle/PHILCOA to Fairview (Fairview Center Mall) will be cleared and illegal parked cars along the route will be towed.
The northbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue shall be partially closed from Home Depot to the Sandiganbayan U-turn slot.
Eastbound of IBP from Filinvest 1 to Sinagtala will be closed to give way for rallyists and demonstrators.
After the SONA, which is expected to end by 6 p.m., only the westbound lane of IBP Road leading to Sandiganbayan underpass/tunnel shall be opened for VIP’s exiting from House of Representatives south gate going to Commonwealth Ave.
The westbound lane from Litex Road to the House of Representatives south gate will remain closed until further notice.
