‘UNFAIR’ | PCSO exec denies hand in Masbate vice mayor slay
October 10, 2019 , 12:47 PM

OCTOBER 10, 2019 – Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam on Thursday denied any involvement in the killing of Batuan, Masbate Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson lll.

The victim’s family yesterday eyed politics as motive behind his ambush, pointing at Cam whose son Marco Martin lost to Yuson’s son Charmax Jan for Batuan mayor last elections.

“I have nothing to do with the ambush. It is so unfair that our family is being dragged into this, we’ve moved on from that election,” Cam said in a statement.

Yuson was shot several times by unidentified men while having breakfast in Sampaloc, Manila. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Two of his companions were also wounded and in critical condition.

Investigators are looking into a report linking him to former barangay chairwoman Guia Gomez Castro, who has been tagged as a drug queen in cahoots with alleged “ninja cops” involved in drug recycling.

“Isa rin ‘yan sa tinitingnan natin kasi may nare-receive tayong report na may connection o kakilala pero does are only raw information that we have to validate,” said Manila Police Director Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao.

Yuson’s brother, meanwhile, denied the victim’s involvement in illegal drugs.

“Pulitika lang naman ang motibo rito. Hindi naman nila matanggap na talo sila dahil inilabas na nila lahat ang sinasabing anting-anting nila dahil milyun-milyon ang ginastos nila, hindi sila manalo,” Charlie Yuson, Jr. said. (Karen Macalalad/ AAD)
