Suntok Sa Buwan is a story about a father and son’s unconditional love for each other. When the father is at the edge of the cliff, the son is willing to sacrifice himself just to save and be with him.
Set in the rural areas of Baguio and Benguet, Suntok Sa Buwan stars Aga Muhlach, who plays Jimmy Boy, and Elijah Canlas, who plays Dos.
To save Jimmy Boy, Dos will be needing some help from the people around him, including Orange and Barok, while facing challenges along the way from others such as his boxing rival, Pistol.
Orange, played by Awra Briguela – who always wears orange every day – is an online seller and a strawberry farm vendor in Baguio. She will experience falling in love, getting fooled, and being hurt. But he will also play a part in making Dos’ life bearable during times of trouble.
“Sobrang ganda rin ng role ko dito, back to drama na naman ako in this teleserye. It’s been a while kasi I’m always doing a comedy serye or comedy movies before. But now, back to comedy pa rin with Maris, and may kabigatan na.”
In an interview with TV5, Awra also said that the show is very special to her.
“Actually ang Suntok Sa Buwan is very special to me… I’m just happy lang kasi ‘yung mga work ko recently mga mahal kong tao mga nakakatrabaho ko kaya hindi mabigat. I don’t feel pressure, I don’t feel stressed, kasi ang gaan lang sa set. Pangatlong project ko na rin ito with Project 8 Projects. I’m just happy talaga na recently tuluy-tuloy ‘yung work ko.”
Barok, played by Paulo Angeles, is Dos’ best friend. They were friends growing up, which made them close. They will both meet Trina, played by Maris Racal, who stirs the love triangle between the three.
“Si Barok, sobrang malaki din ang magiging papel niya sa buhay ni Dos, kasi siya ‘yung best friend ni Dos,” said Direk Geo Lomuntad.
Pistol, played by Albie Casiño, is another boxer who’s gung-ho in becoming part of the official boxing team. He is used to being the best boxer around until he met the undefeatable Dos.
Albie, during the Suntok Sa Buwan mediacon, when asked if he would meet Pistol in real life, responded: “Pwede, pero how he treats his friends, parang ayoko. But, feeling ko naman hindi siya mai-intimidate sa ‘kin, feel ko the reason why medyo salbahe siya kay Dos is he’s very intimidated kay Dos kasi siya lang ‘yung hindi niya matalo.”
Albie also expressed his thoughts on the movie-serye’s production, “‘Yung treatment palang… feeling ko ‘yung treatment nito parang pelikula, they’re shooting it like a movie and not like a teleserye, and I love that.”
Catch more of Awra, Paulo, and Albie on Suntok Sa Buwan airing Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 7:15 PM, on TV5.
