PART 3: Primetime Excellence
TODO MAX PRIMETIME SINGKO: THE ACTION, DRAMA, AND INTRIGUE – OH, MY!
When night rolled around, TV5 turned up the drama and excitement. Primetime in 2024 was all about powerful stories, intense moments, and viral characters. It wasn’t just entertainment — it was storytelling at its finest.
Lumuhod Ka sa Lupa: Fighting for Justice
Norman’s fight for justice had us all hooked. Played by Kiko Estrada, his journey showed us that standing up for what’s right is never easy but always worth it. Norman’s life has been a series of hardships, from losing his mother to spending years in prison. Despite the struggles, he stayed true to his values and his late mother’s teachings. Now, as Atty. Abra Espiritu, he faces the powerful Benito Balmores (Gardo Versoza) in his relentless fight for justice, finding new reasons to persevere through every battle.
Meanwhile, his friend Jane (Rhen Escaño) finds herself caught in the grip of Benito and Miguel (Sid Lucero), but Norman steps in to guide her away from their evil plans.
With the entry of Markus (Mon Confiado), Hope (Heaven Peralejo), and Christine (Ryza Cenon), TV5’s well-loved teleserye continues to deliver gripping stories night after night.
FPJ’s Batang Quiapo: The Phenomenon
Few shows gripped viewers like FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, with Tanggol’s (Coco Martin) rollercoaster journey keeping fans hooked all year. From prisoner to the Chief’s hitman, and eventually to being on the path to wealth and power, his story was filled with drama and heartbreak. Losing his “GL” and “TOTGA” at the start of the year only made him more determined to change his fate. On the love front, while Tanggol stayed devoted to Mokang, he didn’t notice that Bubbles had already fallen for him. True to his word, he protected her at all costs, vowing revenge against anyone who hurt her.
Through countless battles and enemies, and even going face-to-face with his ruthless real father, Tanggol emerged stronger — finding loyal allies who helped him along the way.
Over in San Dimas, things heated up with the scandalous love triangle of Marites (Cherry Pie Picache), Rigor (John Estrada), and Lena (Mercedes Cabral), creating some of the most talked-about moments on TV. Adding to the mix is the loud-mouthed Roda who became Marites’ ally in this whole fiasco.
Meanwhile, Rigor’s son David stirred even more trouble. Taking his cue from his father, when he also got into an affair despite having a pregnant partner, Camille, which resulted in her untimely death.
Senior High and High Street: Love at Northford High
From first loves to their first and real heartbreaks, the students of Senior High and High Street delivered all the kilig, drama, mystery, thrill, and friendship goals we could ask for. Whether it was Sky fighting for justice, Roxy and Archie deciding to give love a shot despite the odds, or Tim and Poch proving that love wins, these two shows gave us major feels.
Can’t Buy Me Love: Unexpected Connections
In this hit series, Ling (Belle Mariano) and Bingo (Donny Pangilinan) proved that opposites do attract! Like Yin and Yang — their different worlds somehow fit perfectly together. As their lives intertwined, they uncovered mysteries about their pasts, showing us that sometimes, fate brings people together for a reason.
As #BingLing and #DonBelle stans, it was also a dream come true to have this exclusive interview with them!
And let’s not forget the surprise hit tandem of Snoop (Anthony Jennings) and Irene (Maris Racal), or #SnoRene. What started as an accidental “erna” mishap quickly turned into a fan-favorite love team, thanks to their hilarious chemistry and entertaining bickerings.
Linlang: Love, Lies, and Betrayal
Love isn’t supposed to be this hard, but for Victor (Paulo Avelino) and Juliana (Kim Chiu) it became a painful reality. What began as a pure relationship was torn apart by betrayal when Victor’s brother, Alex (JM de Guzman), took everything — including Juliana. To make matters worse, their mother, Amelia (Maricel Soriano), even supported the deceit!
But karma always catches up! Linlang definitely kept us on the edge of our seats, with its moments of frustration to jaw-dropping revelations.
Lavender Fields and Pamilya Sagrado: Stories of Strength and Justice
Life isn’t always a bed of roses—Jasmin Flores and Moises Malonzo can attest to that.
Jasmin’s (Jodi Sta. Maria) once simple life on a flower farm turned into a nightmare when Arthur (Jericho Rosales), a man she trusted, betrayed her, leaving her pregnant and entrapped in the chaos of the powerful Buenavidez family.
While she endured hardships, including the abduction of her child, she refused to remain a victim, and transformed herself into Lavender Fields —stronger, smarter, and ready to seek justice.
Meanwhile, Moises, the protagonist of Pamilya Sagrado, only dreamed of a better life for his family. But standing by his principles came with a heavy price, as he found himself facing the harsh realities of a corrupt world. With an impressive cast led by Kyle Echarri, Grae Fernandez, Tirso Cruz III, and Piolo Pascual, the show captivated viewers with its gripping twists and intense drama.
Zoomers: Giving Voice to Gen Z
Gen Z had a lot to say in 2024, and Zoomers made sure their voices were heard. What started as a talent search turned into a platform for real talk about issues that matter. It was fresh, relatable, and totally binge-worthy.
PBB Big 4: A Triumphant Return
Guess who’s back? Pinoy Big Brother reopened its doors and brought us unforgettable moments with standout housemates like Kai, Rain, Kolette and Fyang . One housemate who frequently trended online? Big Winner Fyang Smith! Known for her no-filter, tell-it-like-it-is personality, she often clashed with other housemates. Still, love her or hate her, Fyang’s straightforward nature earned her a solid fanbase.
