(November 26, 2020) – A graduate of the University of the Philippines-Manila bested more than 3,500 medical students who successfully hurdled the 2020 Physician Licensure Examinations.
Jomel Garcia Lapides garnered a rating of 88.67% to top the examination for doctors givenhis month.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced 3,538 out of 4,704 passed the Physician Licensure Examination (Complete, Prelims and For Completion) given by the Board of Medicine in various cities this month.
Patrick Joseph Amunategui Mabugat of University of Saint La Salle and Adrian Emmanuel Diago Teves of University of Santo Tomas (UST) came in second with 88.58%.
They were followed by Henrick Ryan Chua Fong of UST and Raphael Cecilio Salazar Rodolfo of UP Manila with 88.33%.
Rounding off the top 5 are Hannah Tulipat Chito, Tiffany Grace Cheng Uy of University of the Philippines Manila, and Chino Paolo Milan Samson of Lyceum Northwestern University-Dagupan City.

Tricia Robredo, daughter of Vice President Leni Robredo also passed the licensure exam this month.
Also passing the licensure examinations is Jolo Leachon, the son of former National Task Force adviser Dr. Tony Leachon.
The Cebu Institute of Medicine is this year’s top-performing school with a passing rate of 100%.
The University of the Philippines Manila came in second with a passing rate of 98.63%.
This was followed by Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health, Pamantasan Lungsod ng Maynila, and the University of Santo Tomas which had a passing rate of 98.60%, 97.58%, and 95.61% respectively.
