(February 15, 2021) – What’s Valentine’s Day without some heartache
Moira Dela Torre’s new heart-wrenching music video for her song “Paubaya” has suddenly become a sort of anthem for unfulfilled love.
The music video featured ex-couple Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia, who poured their hearts out as they forgave each other for their failed relationship. Their emotional exchange felt so real, many believe it was unscripted.
The reunion became an instant trending topic on Twitter, with fans expressing their sadness on Valentine’s Day.
The hashtag #PaubayaMV was the most trending topic in the Philippines on Sunday with over 103,000 tweets.
Garcia and Barretto, who’s now linked to Gerald Anderson, posted photos of their music video shoot on Twitter.

Some Twitter users quoted some of the lyrics which can be found in the song, relating to the real-life love story of JoshLia.
“Masaya ako na masaya ka.”
One of the purest ways of showing your love for someone is letting them go if it means making them happier, even if you know you will no longer be part of their happiness. #PaubayaMV pic.twitter.com/E1hriyAIiJ

“Binigay ko sayo lahat, naubos lang ako.”
— a reminder for us that we shouldn’t give out all our love for someone. it doesn’t mean that you love him/her right now, you wouldn’t get tired in the future. always learn to save some for yourself. #PaubayaMV pic.twitter.com/0O3w9pCENl

“Masaya akong masaya ka.” – JoshuaJoshLia is the perfect example of “let go of what you can’t change.” We never thought that this song will become sadder. The only closure that we all need. ❤️#PaubayaMV pic.twitter.com/AbHqnx78O8

Moira pointing HIM habang kinakanta yung linya na”Pinapaubaya ko na sa Kanya”. The lesson we need to know— Forgive, Let Go and Surrender to HIS plans. Trust HIM….he’ll give you the right person
