Maraming naratibo mula sa mga komento sa Facebook at sa mga tweet na natanggap namin sa aming tipline ang nagsasabing ang nakaraang insidente ng pamamaril sa Ateneo ay pinlano ng mga Pinklawan para magdulot ng kaguluhan at sisihin ito sa gobyerno. Ayon sa kanila, ang shooter na si Chao Tiao Yumol ay binayarang manakot bago mag-State of the Nation Address (SONA) ang bagong halal na pangulo.
Hindi totoo ang pahayag na ito.
Ayon kay Police Brig. Gen. Remus Medina ng Quezon City Police District, ang pamamaril na ito ay isang isolated case na sanhi ng mga personal na motibo. Sabi ng mga pulis na walang kahit anong political na motibo sa likod ng insidente.

Ayon kay Atty. Quirino Esguerra, ang abogado ng biktima, may sama ng loob si Yumol sa dating alkalde ng Lamitan na si Rose Furigay pagkatapos nitong ipasara ang clinic ni Yumol dahil wala itong permit noong 2018. Sinampahan rin ng dating mayora si Yumol ng kasong cyberlibel.
Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na sinubukan ni Yumol na gumanti sa dating alkalde dahil marami na siyang na-file na reklamo laban kay Furigay dahil kasangkot daw ito sa graft at korapsyon at sa illegal na pagbebenta ng droga bago mangyari ang insidente.
Malabo rin na ang oposisyon (“pinklawan) ang nagplano ng insidenteng ito dahil ang suspek na si Chao Tiao Yumol ay isang tagasuporta ni Duterte bago ilipat ang kanyang suporta sa bagong halal na pangulo na si Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. Bagkos, hinahamon ng insidenteng ito ang moralidad ng isang ‘well-mannered’ na tagasuporta ng pangulo.
Marami sa mga nagsabi na ang pagpatay ay kagagawan ng mga Pinklawan ay nag-delete ng kanilang mga post nang malaman nila na ang suspek ay nangangampanya laban kay Robredo at madalas na nagsha-share ng mga memes o naglalathala ng mga libelous na post.
May mga ilang nagsabi na gusto lamang tulungan ng doktor ang kanyang probinsya ngunit hindi ito sinasalamin ng kanyang mga post at asal.
