(Marso 16, 2022) – May social media user na nag-share ng post ng National Union of Students of the Philippines sa Facebook group na News Natin ‘To noong Pebrero 12. Ipinakita rito ang larawan ng tandem nina Vice President Leni Robredo at Sen. Kiko Pangilinan kasama ang Kabataan Party-list at Makabayan senatorial candidates na sina Neri Colmenares at Elmer Labog.
Sinabi sa caption ng post na kaalyado ng mga nasabing kandidato ang Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).
Hindi ito totoo.
PAHAYAG:
Iniugnay ng isang Facebook user na sina Robredo, Pangilinan, Colmenares, Labog, at ang Kabataan Party-list bilang kaalyado umano ng CPP-NPA-NDF. Dagdag pa nito, mananaig ang terorismo kung manalo ang mga nasabing kandidato.

ANG TOTOO:
Walang ebidensya ang pahayag ng social media user. Sa kabila ng ilang ulit na red-tagging, walang matibay na ebidensyang nagpapatunay na kaalyado ng CPP-NPA-NDF ang mga kandidato.
Hindi na bago ang Kabataan Party-List—ang unang representasyon ng mga kabataan sa Kongreso at bahagi ng Makabayan bloc—sa mga ganitong akusasyon. Kilala ito para sa mga progresibong tindig sa iba’t ibang isyung panlipunan. Minsan na ring naglabas ng fact-check report ang Altermidya ukol sa panre-redtag sa nasabing party-list.
Pinabulaanan ng Makabayan bloc, sa pamumuno ni Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Zarate, noong Oktubre 2020 ang mga pahayag na kaalyado sila ng CPP-NPA-NDF bilang tugon sa mga akusasyon ng National Task Force To End Local Communist Armed Conflict. Noong Setyembre, tinawag din ni Kabataan Rep. Sarah Elago ang red-tagging na bahagi ng tangkang pagpapatahimik sa oposisyon at pag-alis ng lahat ng uri ng pananagutan.
Naglabas na rin ng mga pahayag ang iba pang kandidatong dawit sa nasabing social media post para itanggi na may kaugnayan sila sa CPP-NPA-NDF.

Mapanganib ang red-tagging at nagagamit ito upang bigyan ng katuwiran ang human rights violations, kabilang na ang extrajudicial killings. Sa katunayan, mismong ang United Nations Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights ang nagsabing ang red-tagging o pagtawag sa mga tao at grupo bilang komunista at terorista ay nagdudulot ng seryosong panganib sa lipunan at sa malayang pagpapahayag.
Mayroon nang 83 reaksyon, 122 komento, at 11 na shares ang post sa News Natin To. Binuo ang grupo para sa mga taong tumutuligsa sa CPP-NPA-NDF. Mayroong 14,910 na miyembro ang grupo sa kasalukuyan.
