(October 4, 2024) – The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) has issued a motu proprio wage order that provides for an increase in the daily minimum wage for workers in private establishments in Regions II (Cagayan Valley), III (Central Luzon), and XII (SOCCSKSARGEN), according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
This is in accordance with Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ directive to the department to conduct a timely review of the minimum wage for workers.
Following this, in Cagayan Valley, workers will receive an additional P30 in their wages. For the non-agriculture sector, the minimum wage will increase from P 450 to P 480, while in the agriculture sector, it will increase from P430 to P460 once the wage order takes effect.
In Central Luzon, the daily minimum wage will increase by P 50 to P 66. The minimum wage for the non-agriculture sector will increase from P500 to P550, while in the agriculture sector, it will rise from P 485 to P520. In retail and service establishments, the wage will increase from P435 to P540 once all tranches are fully implemented.
Meanwhile in SOCCSKSARGEN, RTWPB-XII has granted an additional PHP 27 to PHP 48 increase in the daily minimum wage for workers in the region.
The minimum wage will be P430 in the non-agriculture sector, including retail and service establishments, and P 410 in the agriculture sector once all tranches are implemented.
In accordance with existing laws and procedures, the wage orders were submitted to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) for review and were approved on September 25, 2024. The wage orders were published on October 1, 2024, and will take effect on October 17, 2024.
The last wage order for workers in private establishments and domestic workers in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and SOCCSKSARGEN took effect on October 16, 2023.
