(November 8, 2024) – Self-styled pastor Apollo Quiboloy was brought to the Philippine Heart Center for a routine check-up on Friday, his legal counsel said.
Atty. Israelito Torreon told News5 that the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159 has granted a three-day medical furlough, as requested by Quiboloy.
He furthered that it was the same as the request of former senator Leila de Lima when she was still imprisoned for three illegal drug cases. She was eventually acquitted.
The self-proclaimed “Appointed Son of God” and his cohorts, Jackielyn Roy, Ingrid Canada, Cresente Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes, are facing charges of human trafficking, child abuse, and sexual abuse.
The controversial televangelist allegedly threatened his victims that “angels of death” will pursue them and their families once they spoke about the “systemic abuse” in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), which he founded in Davao.

Some of his victims are as young as 12 years old.
During a Senate hearing last October, he denied the allegations.
Last September, he surrendered to then-Department of the Interior and Local Government secretary Benhur Abalos after an over two-week search and arrest operation in the KOJC compound.
