(Agosto 18, 2022) – Nagbigay umano ng huling talumpati ang yumaong diktador na si Ferdinand Marcos Sr. sa kanyang mga tauhan sa Palasyo bago siya umalis ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang sa gitna ng People Power revolution.
Hindi alam ng mga kawani sa Palasyo na may planong umalis ang pamilya bago sila umalis, ayon sa isang ulat noong 1986. Hindi ito totoo.

Ayon sa isang eksena sa pelikulang Maid in Malacañang, nagbigay umano ng talumpati si Marcos Sr. sa mga kawani sa Palasyo bago siya napatalsik sa puwesto sa gitna ng People Power Revolution.

Malayo sa katotohanan: Sa aklat ni Arturo Aruiza, dating aide-de-camp ni Marcos, na “Ferdinand E. Marcos: Malacañang to Makiki,” isinalaysay niya ang “nearest to a farewell” na natanggap ng mga household staff sa Palasyo:
“The members of the household staff, the last ones to leave the Palace, were serving us hot dinner. Two of them, Susan Reyes and Danny Almazan, steadfast to the end, approached Marcos to ask if he wanted to eat. They were weeping. Marcos shook his head, then touched them gently, blessing them, the nearest to a farewell the household staff received that night.”
(Naghanda ng mainit na hapunan ang mga miyembro ng household staff na huling umalis ng Palasyo. Tapat hanggang sa huli, lumapit ang dalawa sa kanila, sina Susan Reyes at Danny Almazan, kay Marcos para magtanong kung gusto niyang kumain. Umiiyak sila. Umiling si Marcos, at saka hinawakan ang kanilang kamay at nagmano. Ito na ang pinakamalapit na pagpaalam na nakuha ng mga household staff sa gabi na iyon.)
Hindi ipinaalam: Ayon sa isang ulat ng Manila Times noong Pebrero 27, 1986, na pinamagatang “The Final Hours,” hindi alam noon ng mga kawani sa Palasyo ang plano ng pamilyang Marcos na umalis ng Palasyo:
“Minutes before the First Family’s departure, the household staff still didn’t know of the plan. Mrs. Marcos even sent her hairstylist downstairs to get something. But when the hairstylist rushed back upstairs, the room was empty. The First Family had gone.”
(Ilang minuto bago umalis ang (pamilyang Marcos), hindi alam ng mga household staff ang kanilang plano. May pinakuha pa si Mrs. (Imelda) Marcos sa kanyang hairstylist sa ibabang palapag. Ngunit nang pag-akyat ng hairstylist, wala nang tao sa kuwarto. Wala na ang (pamilyang Marcos.))
