It’s rare to find an on-screen pairing that effectively delivers both chemistry and comedy to the Filipino audience at the same time–but Can’t Buy Me Love stars Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings’ unexpected pairing makes it look easy (and fun!). Through their characters Irene Tiu and Snoop Manansala or SnoRene, Maris and Anthony carry their bickering scenes through improv and natural comic timing and make it trend, one bardagulan at a time.

Pero bago ang lahat, alam n’yo bang walang ni-reveal kina Maris at Anthony na love interest ang kanilang characters noong storycon ng Can’t Buy Me Love? According to them, nakitaan lang daw sila ng chemistry ng isa sa mga direktor nila sa serye na si Cathy Garcia-Sampana sa unang eksena nila, kung saan sinalo ni Snoop si Irene mula sa dapat na pagkakahulog nito sa building.

According to Maris sa guesting nila sa Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast, marami silang eksena kung saan unscripted ang banters at pag-arte nila ni Anthony. Ang isa sa mga eksenang iyon ay ang episode kung saan pormal nang nakilala ni Irene si (Super) Snoop, at nagtanong siya kung sino ang ka-date nito. Sabi ni Maris, natapos na raw ang dialogue noong sinabi ni Snoop ang lines na “Ernang ‘to.” pero as Irene, tinanong niya kung ano ang “erna,” which gave birth to their iconic line, “I-gugol mo!” which, in English, means Google it!
