FPJ’S BATANG QUIAPO MILESTONES | Coco Martin and cast celebrate the first anniversary of the show

Under the direction of the show’s lead actor, Coco Martin, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo successfully celebrated its first anniversary last February 13, 2024. A year has passed, but the hit series shows no signs of stopping, as it continually gives its audience action-packed episodes and interesting storylines for each character. Here’s a look back at some of the show’s high points through the show’s characters, brought to life by the finest actors of our time.

Nagsimula ang kwento ng Batang Quiapo sa well-praised performance ni Miles Ocampo bilang si Marites, ang ina ni Tanggol, noong siya ay dalaga pa. Hindi malilimutan ang eksenang panganganak niya sa palengke, dahil iniluwal niya si Tanggol nang mag-isa sa maruming sahig ng palengke at sa tabi ng mga isdang paninda niya.

Kasama niya rin sa eksenang ito si Ryza Cenon na gumanap naman bilang dalagang Olga. Matatandaang tinangka niyang nakawin ang sanggol na Tanggol para hindi na muling mahanap ni Ramon.

Naging trending din ang anak ng late Da King Fernando Poe, Jr. na si Lovi Poe na gumanap bilang si Monique o mas kilala sa tawag na si Mokang. Siya ang kababata at BFF ni Tanggol na ‘di-kalaunan ay naging first love niya sa serye. Sa kasamaang-palad, namatay ang karakter na si Mokang habang sinusubukang takasan ang kalupitan ng kanyang napangasawang si Ramon na ginagampanan naman ni Christopher De Leon.

Viral naman ang eksena ni Susan Africa na kilalang suki sa pagganap ng mga hirap sa buhay na karakter, dahil sa FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, pinatikim si Aling Nita, na kanyang ginagampanan, ng donya role na may pautang business pa! Noong ikasal ang anak niyang si Mokang sa mayamang negosyante at drug lord na si Ramon, binigyan sila ng isang milyon nito para sa negosyo at kapritso.

But like all easy money, mabilis din nawala ang pera ng mag-asawa , at napilitan silang lumapit sa kanilang “frenemy” na si Roda, played by Direk Joel Lamangan. Isa ito sa mga karakter na talaga namang tumatak sa madla dahil patok ang akting ni Direk Joel pagdating sa pangungutya kay Mang Marsing, Aling Nita pati na rin kay Tindeng. Matatandaang may eksenang pinahahalik nito si Tindeng, na mahusay na ginagampanan ni Ms. Charo Santos, sa kanyang mga paa ngunit nauwi lang rin sa sakitan at awayan.

Pautang din ang negosyo ni Roda, pero tila hinahabol din siya ng karma dahil naging palaboy din siya sa Quiapo nang masunog ang lahat ng kanyang ari-arian kasama na ang kanyang mga pera.

Isa rin sa mga pinanggigigilan ng taumbayan gabi-gabi ang karakter ni McCoy De Leon na si David, ang numero unong sulsulero sa tatay niyang si Rigor para lalong madiin si Tanggol sa kapahamakan. Pinag-usapan din ang ginawa niyang pambabastos sa sarili niyang ina na si Marites pati na rin sa kanyang Lola Tindeng. At ngayon, patuloy siyang namamayagpag sa kahambugan dahil sa pagpapanggap niya bilang si Tanggol kay Ramon, upang kamkamin ang kayamanan na hindi naman para sa kanya.

Naging trending naman ang pagpasok ng karakter ni Ivana Alawi na si Bubbles! Hindi malilimutan ang “love scene” nila ni Tanggol noong panahong sila ay naging pugante, matapos utusan ni Chief Espinas na patumbahin ang grupong Red Phoenix. Viewers were truly surprised, dahil buhay pa si Mokang noon, at siya pa rin ang mahal ni Tanggol. Until the plot twist was revealed – panaginip lang pala ito ni Bubbles!

Pinag-usapan din ang mga eksena ng pagiging cheater ng pulis na si Rigor, played by John Estrada, sa kanyang asawang si Marites, na ginagampanan naman ni Cherry Pie Picache. Naging other woman niya ang kapwa pulis na si Lena, brought to life by Mercedes Cabral. Umabot na rin sa puntong nahuli siya ni Tindeng na lantarang nakikipaghalikan kay Lena sa kalye, in broad daylight!

Sa ngayon, nasa loob ng kulungan si Tanggol kasama ang buong tropa. Matatandaang nahuli siya ng mga pulis dahil sa ginawa niyang pagnanakaw para makatulong sa pampagamot kay Mang Marsing na tatay ni Mokang.

Isa rin siya sa pinagkakatiwalaang hitman ng karakter ni Jacquelyn Jose na si Chief Espinas, habang biggest rival naman niya ang karakter ni Vandolph na si Bong. Sa katunayan, nagkaroon sila ng sagupaan sa loob ng kulungan dahil binastos ni Bong si Bubbles at hindi ito nagustuhan ni Tanggol kaya pinagtanggol niya at muntik niya pang mapatay si Bong. Sa ngayon, lalo pang tumitindi ang hidwaan sa pagitan ng grupo nila.
