SPACE-TACULAR COMEBACK | McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop returns after a three-year hiatus

(September 6, 2023) – In time for the opening of classes this school year, the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop comes back bigger and better than ever, giving its 20,000 kiddie crew nationwide a head start to navigate their path to learning and socializing. This immersive program fosters our young voyagers’ teamwork, creativity, and confidence.

A loved and trusted kids program since 1991, the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop is a testament to the commitment of McDonald’s to provide feel-good moments for kids and parents alike. On top of the lessons and experience, every session promotes the values of responsibility, diligence, discipline, and teamwork, like the proper way of handwashing which was instilled in the kiddie participants along the way.

Staying true to tradition, the workshop came to an official end with the Kiddie Crew Grand Graduation last September 2 and 3. And it’s no ordinary ceremony as everyone was treated to an out-of-this-world adventure. They were transported into a fantastic space-themed weekend event. The entire Halls 1 to 5 of the SMX Convention Center Manila was converted into ‘Starbase Alpha,’ where the culmination of the workshop led our voyagers into a cosmic landing. The “Happy Voyagers” theme was brought to life along with all the outer space element kids could imagine.

Before the grand show lifted off, parents, guests, and families were given time to explore Starbase Alpha’s interactive games, fun-filled booths and activities, and won McDonald’s prizes and gifts from the friendly sponsors. After everyone filled their tummies with a tasty meal from McDonald’s, the show took kids on an exciting adventure with live songs and dance performances, as well as special appearances of McDonald’s Chief Happiness Officer Ronald McDonald and his gang. And to everyone’s delight, McDonald’s brand ambassador Alden Richards dropped by and joined the graduates who took their oath and promise as a kiddie crew graduate.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the triumphant return of the Kiddie Crew Program in 2023, with over 20,000 young participants joining us on this incredible journey,” stated Fidel M. Balbieran, LSM Director, at McDonald’s. “The ‘Happy Voyagers’ theme perfectly encapsulates the spirit of exploration, happiness, and growth that defines our program. We invite families, friends, and well-wishers to join us in applauding these young graduates as they mark the culmination of their unforgettable experience,” he added.

Maybe the best comeback that took off and we can take away from this is that workshops give kids more opportunities to be equipped with new skills, new friends, and useful knowledge while having a blast in the process.
