(December 26, 2024) – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Thursday refuted the claims of a vlogger that first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos intervened in a supposed anti-drug operation in Muntinlupa.
In a video on YouTube, Claire Contreras, also known as “Maharlika,” alleged that Araneta-Marcos meddled in favor of a drug personality arrested by the PDEA at Ayala Alabang Village earlier this month.
The PDEA, however, stressed that the allegations were “baseless, false, and unfounded.”
“Investigations revealed that there was no recorded coordination or pre-operation report from any PDEA operating team or other law enforcement agencies within Ayala Alabang Village lodged in the agency’s plans and operations reports management information system or PORMIS for the month of December 2024,” said the PDEA in a media release.
It noted that a buy-bust operation was conducted on the same day but in Las Piñas.
“Members of the Alabang City Police Station also went to the location to verify the claims. Based on their gathered information, neither a law enforcement operation nor a similar incident happened inside the village,” added the PDEA.

“Maharalika” was once a pro-Marcos vlogger before becoming a staunch critic. She’s a proud supporter of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
She is facing multiple cyberlibel complaints filed by former senator Kiko Pangilinan and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office chief Melquiades Robles, among other complainants, for her defamatory remarks.
A report by fact-checking outlet Vera Files revealed that pro-Duterte accounts have been spreading disinformation against the Marcoses after the UniTeam was abolished.
Last June, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte-Carpio bolted from Marcos’ cabinet, citing their “political differences.” Their rift has gotten worse in recent months.
Duterte-Carpio and Marcos benefited from fake news online during the 2022 elections, according to fact-checking coalition Tsek.PH.
