(January 6, 2021) – Netizens didn’t mince words in criticizing the Philippine National Police (PNP) and its chief Gen. Debold Sinas for saying that the death of Christine Dacera is already “case solved” despite alleged holes in the investigation.
Initial autopsy revealed that Dacera, a 23-year-old flight attendant, died of ruptured aortic aneurysm. The PNP, however, said she was raped and then killed. Because three of the 12 suspects already surrendered, Sinas declared the Dacera’s death as officially solved.
But that didn’t sit well with netizens, who blasted the controversial PNP chief for his statement without showing any supporting evidence.
One Twitter user called out the PNP for being “incompetent.”
Earlier today , PNP told the media that this case was a “case solved /case closed”, w/o even submitting a final autopsy and toxicology report to the court. This swift justice typically bypasses what the constitution calls 'due process'.
Incompetent? YES.

Another one also lashed out at Sinas and the PNP after the initial autopsy report showed Dacera was not raped.
Insufficient evidence but the PNP already declared case solved. Now, the autopsy report clearly stated that there is no rape and the the real cause of death is Ruptured Aortic Aneurysm. To Sir Sinas lalo mo lang dinumihan ang PNP. Madumi na nga dinudumihan mo pa.

Another user said that the PNP was “extremely unjust” to Dacerna, the suspects, and every other unsolved rape case.
the pnp fabricating a rape case is extremely unjust towards
1. christine dacera
2. the 11 men who have all the right to clear their names!!
3. EVERY OTHER UNSOLVED RAPE CASE.— ? (@yikesdavs) January 5, 2021
One netizen, meanwhile, called out the PNP for being “desperate to get a win.”
What if she died of natural causes? The news mentioned an aneurysm. Couldn’t they wait for the toxicology, DNA, and genital examination results before making press releases? How can the case be solved? A trial by publicity is unfair. The PNP’s desperation for a win is apparent.

Another Twitter user also tried to explain Sinas’ thought process in two notable incidents that happened recently.
Sinas towards Gregorio Family
(with actual video): "Kulang sa evidence."Sinas towards Christine Dacera
(with insufficient evidence): "Case solved."what kind of system ???#JusticeForChristineDacera

Popular satirist Professional Heckler, meanwhile, wondered about the case of the smuggled COVID-19 vaccines.
Case solved na ba ang smuggling ng vaccine?

Progressive personalities have also blasted Sinas and the PNP for their alleged mishandling of the case.
Former Bayan Muna representative and activist Teddy Casiño said the blame has to be towards the PNP for failing to investigate by easily concluding rape and homicide.
Daming nag apologize for prematurely pillorying the Dacera slay suspects on socmed. Fine. But remember, this was all triggered by the PNP prematurely saying the case was solved with the mere identification of several persons of interest.

Akbayan chairperson RJ Naguit also called out the PNP for using a vague medical report to create a narrative.
No, PNP, you do not declare a case solved unless you give the victim the justice they deserve. So many questions left unanswered. This is the time when you need evidence from forensic med not just some vague medicolegal report to conjure a up narrative. #JusticeForChristineDacera
